​Kenrose Elementary is one of the premier schools in Williamson County and the state of Tennessee. Our PTO plays an important role in enhancing the education of students by supporting programs and events, assisting teachers and staff, and fundraising.

Elections for the PTO Executive Board are held each March. We are always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated parents who are interested in being a part of the board!  Each position serves at least one school year term, although if possible, we like each position to remain in place for two school years for consistency sake.

Read on to learn more about the board positions and their responsibilities.  And, if you are interested in running, or would like to nominate someone you think would be a great addition to the KES PTO team, please reach out to the PTO secretary or to any PTO Board member.


Preside over all meetings.  Coordinate and facilitate communication between committees and Executive Board Members.  Ex-officio member of all committees.  Liaison between WCS Central Office, Principal and Executive PTO Board. 


Maintains accounts and records of the financial activities of the PTO.  Prepares annual PTO budget.  Provides a monthly income/expense statement and balance sheet for the Executive Board and General PTO meetings.  Responsible for coordinating tax filing with the outside accountant.  Reconciles monthly bank statements.

Assistant Treasurer:

Responsible to maintain check book, write checks, and make deposits.

Recording Secretary: 

Keeps all records of attendance and proceedings of the Executive Board and General PTO meetings.  Also includes duties of Parliamentarian, which includes advising on parliamentary procedures and Chairing the By-Laws and Nominating Committee.

VP Membership: 

Maintain Membership Directory, Volunteer recruitment and coordination and oversee Room Parent Coordinator, Ambassador program and Adopt-A-Cardinal program.  

VP Special Events: 

Oversees the committees that support special events, which includes Monthly Teacher Appreciation, Teacher Luncheons, Annual Teacher Appreciation week, and all events that are hosted by the PTO for the Kenrose families.

VP of Fundraising: 

Coordinates annual fundraising projects which are the annual Build the Nest check writing campaign  & Family Fun Night.  Oversees the committees for all other fundraising events.

Assistant to VP of Fundraising:

Assists VP of Fundraising with all fundraising projects.

VP Projects: 

Oversees the committees that support everyday school functions which include Spirit wear, Playground, Landscaping, School Supplies and the Track. Can include other special projects that may come up during the year.  Also a liason to teacher sponsors for school sponsored clubs such as Green Team, Destination Imagination and Student Council.

VP Public Relations: 

Oversee and ensure accurate and timely communication between all PTO members, parents, school staff, teachers, and local media (marquee, BEV, bulletin board, etc.)


Responsibilities change year-to-year as committees are assigned to it from other Board members at the beginning of the year, based on the specialties of the member at large and the each member of the Board.
